Kiln Logger ("we," "us," or "our") operates the kilnlogger.com website and the Kiln Logger hardware device and companion web service (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
When you sign in to the Kiln Logger web service using Google OAuth, we receive basic profile information from Google, including your name and email address. We use this information solely to create and identify your account.
Through normal use of the Service, we also collect:
- Kiln firing data (temperature readings, timestamps, firing duration)
- Photos you choose to upload during or after a firing
- Notes or annotations you add to firing logs
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the Service, including displaying your firing history and data
- Authenticate your identity when you sign in
- Respond to support requests you initiate
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.
Google OAuth
We use Google OAuth for authentication. Signing in with Google allows us to verify your identity without storing a password. We request only the minimum permissions needed: your basic profile (name and email). We do not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, or any other Google services.
You can revoke Kiln Logger's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page.
Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except as necessary to operate the Service (such as cloud hosting providers), or as required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your account and firing data for as long as your account is active. If you would like your data deleted, contact us at hello@kilnlogger.com and we will remove it promptly.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with an updated effective date.
